9thWaV Off Grid was voted best camp site to visit in 2021 by the Hipcamp community. With this new designation by campers on Hipcamp, 9thWaV Off Grid decided now is a good time to re-brand as well as develop some new experiences and offerings.

9thWaV Off Grid will be elevated to a new level as Camp Haleakalā. Haleakalā is the dormant volcano of East Maui. Haleakalā means “house of the sun” in Hawaiian. Towering 10,023 feet above sea level, the volcano provides amazing views all day long. Haleakalā is popular to visit at sunrise and sunset.

For this logo design, we had very specific elements of Haleakalā we wanted to be front and center. The volcano peaks, the sun, and the moon all had to come into play. We also wanted to make sure there was a symbol of a tent. It’s not uncommon to have beautiful views of the sun and moon at the same time on Haleakalā so we focused on creating the feel of both while utilizing the peaks of the mountain to create the tent.
