MAUI, HI (August 12, 2022) – The 1st Annual Vince Esquire Rock & Blues Fest will be on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 at Gilligan’s Bar & Grill outdoor stage. After a long hiatus, The Vince Esquire Blues band with special guest Texas blues shredder Chris Duarte will headline the evening. Opening artists include Justin Morris + Matt Del Olmo, The Danyel Alana Trio, and Kanoa. For the occasion, Gilligan’s will have a 15-foot BBQ station and will be selling some classic barbecue for all to enjoy. Indoor seating and limited outdoor seating will be available on a first come first serve basis.

The Vince Esquire Band has been amazing fans for close to two decades now. Quite possibly Hawaii’s most explosive Rock – Blues – Funk band. Vince and his band have toured with the Gregg Allman Band, the Derek Trucks Band, Little Feat and have even opened for Aerosmith.

Vince on guitar and vocals is joined by long time musical partner Josh Greenbaum on drums. Josh is one of Hawaii’s most respected drummers and his resume reads like Vince’s as he has played with a who’s who of greats such as John Fruciante & Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers). Jason Ganis on Bass compliments with his solid tight grooves, and Hammond B3 player Matt Novotney brings some funky textures that compliment Vince’s leads.

Chris Duarte is a road warrior playing more than 150 dates a year. Chris has headlined major festivals and clubs throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. To classify Chris Duarte simply as a Blues Man is an understatement. He has shared his stage with many of the greatest musicians of our time as well as the multitude of “young lions” and local musicians he meets on the road.

Justin Morris + Matt Del Olmo are the original members of the national touring BrownChicken BrownCow String band and national touring rock band YumYum Beast. Together as a duet Justin & Matt can call on each other’s strengths and share the energy. Both Matt and Justin are singers and high-level multi-instrumentalists.

Maui’s island soul rocker, guitarist, singer, songwriter & artist, Danyel Alana brings an eclectic style to her conscious-driven music stemming from her roots growing up in a multi-ethnic, artist/musician family from both CA & Hawai’i. Her soulful vocals & versatile guitar combine with her bluesy, rock, reggae, funky, soulful, jazzy, Hawaiian island style. Danyel is joined by Uncle Don Lopez on Bass (Willie K, Kanekoa) and Josh Greenbaum on Drums.
Kanoa might be one of Maui’s most versatile musicians. His live performances pack energy and soul into every note. A multi-instrumentalist and singer, Kanoaʻs range crosses over blues, rock, R&B, hip hop and punk!
