Maui’s Magic Show
Mulligans On The Blue

Maui Magic Show

Maui’s Magic show is this Thursday with Brenton Keith & His Bag O’Tricks at Mulligans On The Blue. It’s the perfect family night out in South Maui! Ryliss Bod, had this to say on Google recently, “This is a hidden gem on a golf course! They offer local entertainment at a super low price. The food is good and the entertainment unbelievable.

Last night I went to the Magic Show and enjoyed myself so much I am returning next week. A year ago I went to listen to a female singer and was blown away. Mulligans only charges $10-30 but the shows would cost $75-$150 in the states. The venue is small and intimate making it all the better.”

Only $10 per person, with children 5 and under FREE! Dinner seating starts at 5pm, and the show begins at 6:30pm. Brenton is also known for his pre-show table-side magic.

Casanova Makawao

Sundays in the Country with Swing Star

AG Presents and Casanova Makawao welcome Swing Star to the Aloha Music Series, Sundays in the Country, at Casanova’s on Sunday, May 24th from 1-3pm. On first listen, Swing Star’s swirling sounds owe much to the gypsy guitar of Django Reinhardt, but as the ear adapts, it’s clear that this quartet sounds like no other.

Guitarist Steve Elliott became smitten with and inspired by Django’s music and guitar mastery. It wasn’t long after that when Michael Guzalak (clarinet, tenor sax, vocal, percussion) joined in, and bassist David Graber, or Ganis, are perhaps the finest bass players on Maui. The newest member, Bita Fonseca, is an extraordinary Brazilian guitarist.

More information and tickets can be found here.

SUPPORT LAHAINA!

Mo’o and Koholā by Lori Abreu

Mo`o and Koholā: A Childrenʻs Book full of Aloha and Purpose!

Lori Abreu, born and raised on Maui, is passionate about serving the children and families of her island home. It was the outpouring of aloha and compassion she witnessed working alongside volunteers in our Maui community in the wake of the devastating wildfires that motivated her to realize her long-time dream of publishing her first children’s book, Mo`o and Koholā, which was introduced to our Maui community in January 2024. The proceeds from the sales of this story are donated to the ongoing rebuild of Lahaina. To date, Lori has made donations supporting the Lahaina community and its children through The Hawaii Community Foundation and Lahaina schools.

Her complete project is full of Lahaina and local flavor. Its pages highlight Lahaina Harbor, Front Street, Lahainaʻs Banyan Tree, and more. Mo`o and Koholā comes with three original songs and a website of resources for families and teachers. Lori is extremely thankful to her enthusiastic, talented team which helped bring her project to life. She feels blessed to have worked with Nicki Barsamian who beautifully illustrated her story and helped guide her through the self-publication process. The musicality of Kala`e Camarillo who performed her songs and made them so special was surely a treat for the music lover she is! Visit Loriʻs website at www.kumulori.com for more information on this project and a purchasing link.
