PC: Brenton Keith & His Bag O’ Tricks
Maui’s Magic show is this Thursday with Brenton Keith & His Bag O’ Tricks at Mulligans On The Blue. It’s the perfect family night out in South Maui! Ryliss Bod, had this to say on Google recently, “This is a hidden gem on a golf course! They offer local entertainment at a super low price. The food is good and the entertainment unbelievable.
Last night I went to the Magic Show and enjoyed myself so much I am returning next week. A year ago I went to listen to a female singer and was blown away. Mulligans only charges $10-30 but the shows would cost $75-$150 in the states. The venue is small and intimate making it all the better.”
Only $10 per person, with children 5 and under FREE! Dinner seating starts at 5pm, and the show begins at 6:30pm. Brenton is also known for his pre-show table-side magic.

A Celebration of AAPI Heritage Month
Featuring DeShannon Higa: A Pono Project Event
ProArts Playhouse
PC: ProArts Playhouse
Heritage in Motion is a 90-minute musical journey that explores identity as something living—shaped by roots, refined through experience, and expressed in sound. Featuring DeShannon Higa on trumpet, Jeff Hellmer on piano, Dave Graber on bass, and Howie Rentzer on drums. The show opens grounded in groove, drawing the audience in with familiar rhythmic language and warmth. From there, the music begins to stretch—blending jazz, soul, funk, and subtle cultural textures that reflect the layered experience of Asian American and Pacific Islander identity. Rather than presenting tradition as static, each piece reimagines it—transforming it through improvisation, arrangement, and collective voice.

G.Love
Mulligans On The Blue
We are excited to bring G LOVE to the Mulligans Music Box for a very special show on Sunday, May 17th! G. Love lives at the intersections between blues and hip-hop, porch and pavement, tradition and instinct. Garrett Dutton, better known as G. Love, is an American musician best known as the front man for the band G. Love & Special Sauce. Dutton, born in Philadelphia, began playing guitar at age 8. He wrote his first song by the time he was in the 9th grade and began playing harmonica in a wire rack. Dutton credits Bob Dylan and John Hammond Jr., as well as then-contemporary “old school” hip-hop sounds of Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys, and Philadelphia’s own Schooly D as influences.
G. Love featured Jack Johnson on his 1999 LP Philadelphonic, playing an early version of Jack Johnson’s “Rodeo Clowns” when Jack was an unknown artist. Jack later featured the song on his 2003 LP On and On. Known nowadays for his excellent live shows, he is often seen touring with Jack Johnson, who signed G. Love to his record label, Brushfire Records. He has made appearances on the records of artists such as Slightly Stoopid and Donavon Frankenreiter.

SUPPORT LAHAINA!
Mo’o and Koholā by Lori Abreu
Lori Abreu, born and raised on Maui, is passionate about serving the children and families of her island home. It was the outpouring of aloha and compassion she witnessed working alongside volunteers in our Maui community in the wake of the devastating wildfires that motivated her to realize her long-time dream of publishing her first children’s book, Mo`o and Koholā, which was introduced to our Maui community in January 2024. The proceeds from the sales of this story are donated to the ongoing rebuild of Lahaina. To date, Lori has made donations supporting the Lahaina community and its children through The Hawaii Community Foundation and Lahaina schools.
Her complete project is full of Lahaina and local flavor. Its pages highlight Lahaina Harbor, Front Street, Lahainaʻs Banyan Tree, and more. Mo`o and Koholā comes with three original songs and a website of resources for families and teachers. Lori is extremely thankful to her enthusiastic, talented team which helped bring her project to life. She feels blessed to have worked with Nicki Barsamian who beautifully illustrated her story and helped guide her through the self-publication process. The musicality of Kala`e Camarillo who performed her songs and made them so special was surely a treat for the music lover she is! Visit Loriʻs website at www.kumulori.com for more information on this project and a purchasing link.
