Willy is a violinist who began playing the violin as a child in Chicago, Illinois. He is an accomplished musician and charismatic performer who has mastered many styles throughout the years, including classical, country, bluegrass, jazz, and Irish. He has performed and toured with internationally known artists. Career highlights include performing at the White House, Grand Ol’ Opry, The Johnny Carson Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Farm Aid. Willy also plays in the group ‘Weatherly-Wainwright’ with his wife, Jennifer Weatherly, and the Maui-based Gypsy Jazz group, Gypsy Pacific. He has also released solo albums that feature many of his personal favorites.

Sweet Beets launched her musical career as a DJ in Southern California. The hilarious new musical about an unintentionally hilarious new musical is at ProArts Playhouse on Saturday, January 31st. In this two-man musical spoof, a pair of aspiring playwrights perform a backers’ audition for their new, ill-advised project – a big, splashy musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. With an unending supply of enthusiasm, Bud and Doug sing all the songs and play all the parts in their crass historical epic, with the hope that one of the producers in attendance will give them that elusive Broadway contract.

SUPPORT LAHAINA!

Mo’o and Koholā by Lori Abreu

Lori Abreu, born and raised on Maui, is passionate about serving the children and families of her island home. It was the outpouring of aloha and compassion she witnessed working alongside volunteers in our Maui community in the wake of the devastating wildfires that motivated her to realize her long-time dream of publishing her first children’s book, Mo`o and Koholā, which was introduced to our Maui community in January 2024. The proceeds from the sales of this story are donated to the ongoing rebuild of Lahaina. To date, Lori has made donations supporting the Lahaina community and its children through The Hawaii Community Foundation and Lahaina schools. Her complete project is full of Lahaina and local flavor. Its pages highlight Lahaina Harbor, Front Street, Lahainaʻs Banyan Tree, and more. Mo`o and Koholā comes with three original songs and a website of resources for families and teachers. Lori is extremely thankful to her enthusiastic, talented team which helped bring her project to life. She feels blessed to have worked with Nicki Barsamian who beautifully illustrated her story and helped guide her through the self-publication process.
