FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hilton Grand Vacations and Hawaiian Airlines Present
Amy Hānaiali’i’s 25 Years of Pālehua
MAUI, HI (March 8, 2023) – Hawai’i’s top-selling female artist, Amy Hānaiali’i, pays tribute to her Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winning song, Pālehua, one of Hawai’i’s most famous songs, and one of the world’s most danced-to songs among hula Hālau across the globe. Amy has added a new verse to the song, is taking special Pālehua performances throughout Hawai’i and beyond, launching a Pālehua Sparkling Wine Rosé, and celebrating a Pālehua day online in 2023. To celebrate this 25-year milestone, Amy Hānaiali’i, Hilton Grand Vacations, and Hawaiian Airlines are partnering to Present the 25 Years of Pālehua.
Pālehua, a beautiful mountain on O’ahu, inspired creative magic when Amy Hānaiali’i and the late Uncle Willie K united there 25 years ago to compose some of Hawai’i’s most beloved songs. The song, Pālehua, was written in tribute to this magical place and it became an instant classic. Honolulu Magazine named it one of the best 50 songs ever written.
Amy has created a new verse for Pālehua along with versions that include the new verse in two other languages, French and Japanese. Inspired by the beauty of “Pālehua,”Amy’s celebrated wine company, Hānaiali’i Wines, will release a special Pālehua Sparkling Wine Rosé through Southern Wines & Spirits. The celebration begins on April 7th and 8th at The Smith Center in Las Vegas. Then on April 11th, it continues at the 60th Anniversary of the Merrie Monarch Festival with a VIP party in The Crown Room at The Grand Nani Loa in Hilo. Amy will continue with her Hawaii tour and embark on an international tour to Japan. In June she celebrates Hawai’i on the Hill in Washington D.C. and on June 16th, Amy invites you to celebrate a day of Pālehua on Instagram by sharing your Pālehua and using #Palehua25th to be streamed on AmyHanaialii.com/Palehua.
