Haiku folk duet Desert Hollow is returning to Mulligans yet again in collaboration with the Three to Five funk band for an evening of boogying down. What exactly happens when you mix a folk duet with a four-piece funk band? Dessert Hello\, that’s what! Full Sound\, Dance Floor\, and Lights by Jamminʻ Joey\nABOUT DESERT HOLLOW\nHaiku folk duet Desert Hollow is returning to Mulligans yet again in collaboration with the Three to Five funk band for an evening of boogying down. What exactly happens when you mix a folk duet with a four-piece funk band? Dessert Hello\, that’s what!\nDesert Hollow has created a recognizable name for themselves here on Maui. Most often\, you will catch them in duo or trio form at their residency up at Mahalo Aleworks on Thursday nights\, or maybe you’ve seen them before at an intimate evening at the Pro Arts theater\, or maybe even you’ve caught them plunking a banjo or two at the cove. It’s true\, the musical and life partners Xander Hitzig and Nicole Olney both write original music with intricacy and lyricism that grooves well in a setting where you can sit down and really hear what they are singing about. This night\, however\, will be a different vibration of Desert Hollow\, elevated by Matt Del Olmo on electric guitar\, Kevin Garland on drums\, Ian Sheridan on bass\, and Matt Novotney on organ/keys. Joey from Jammin’ on Maui will be providing psychedelic lighting equivalent to the likes of what one may experience at the Sphere. Am I exaggerating? Not really\, the guy is an artist.\nIf you missed the last show in March\, now is your chance to see this historic collaboration again before Desert Hollow hits the mainland for their summer tour. If you made it to the last show\, then you really don’t need any convincing\, the magic of that evening was tangible.\nGetcha dancing slippahs and get ready to boogie down\, we’ll see you there!\nGeneral Tickets – $30Day-of / Door – $40Doors/Check-in starts at 6:00pmShow Starts at 7:00pmFood and drinks are available for purchase throughout the eveningOutdoor tables and seating are first come first serve.\n \nA little more about Desert Hollow:Desert Hollow embodies the blend of geographical and artistic influences that shape this traveling duo\, consisting of Xander Hitzig and Nicole Olney. Their musical journey began in Los Angeles\, as castmates in a jukebox country musical\, their unexpected connection and shared passion for songcraft has since taken them all over the world.\nXander hails from the rolling hills of West Virginia\, while Nicole’s roots lie in the vast deserts of California. The influences of their respective hometowns have created a sort of high-lonesome-bluegrass-folk-funk sound. Currently calling Maui\, Hawaii\, home\, they create genre-bending music that speaks to the heart\, as Xander often describes it: “folk music-music for the folks.” Xander is a profound multi-instrumentalist and writer\, seamlessly playing a variety of stringed instruments\, including fiddle\, which he also performs with Lukas Nelson. While Nicole’s knack for writing earned a short film of hers a premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Nicole’s powerful lyricism and ethereal voice weaves seamlessly into the rich\, diverse soundscapes of their songs\, while Xander’s voice carries the weight and clarity of traditional bluegrass music\, raw and unadorned. When they harmonize\, it feels as though their bond transcends time\, as if they’ve been singing together forever—not just musically\, but as life partners\, intertwined in both love and melody.\nDesert Hollow’s performances vary from lively\, full-band shows that invite audiences to dance\, to more intimate\, duet-style sets perfect for quiet reflection. Their music is largely original—captivating songs that feel both timeless and timely. Their live shows leave audiences feeling uplifted\, grounded\, and inspired long after the music fades.\nThe release of their debut EP Thirsty garnered attention being described as “a refreshing blend of old-timey folk\, blood harmonies\, and knee-slapping hoedowns\,” quickly landing themselves a feature on NPR Music’s Live Sessions\, as well as opportunities to collaborate in out and out of the studio with the likes of Gregory Alan Isakov\, Lukas Nelson\, John Craigie\, and Lily Meola. Spending the last few years touring the U.S. and crafting their sound\, Xander and Nicole are excited to announce that their first full-length record is set for release this year. This long-awaited album promises to showcase their musical evolution\, with songs that reflect their unique journey and growth as artists.\n \n BUY TICKETS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Back to Upcoming

With his signature “Fuzz Funk Voodoo Blues\,” Hall masterfully blends elements of Blues\, Soul\, Funk\, Americana\, Rock\, and Alternative into a captivating and one-of-a-kind sound that resonates with authenticity.\nA Pennsylvania native and a proud U.S. Marine veteran with two tours of duty\, Shane Hall’s musical journey began in 2001 with the creation of his first song. This initial spark ignited a lifelong exploration of soulful roots and a fusion of acoustic and electric sounds. His music stands as a testament to his deep emotional expression and constant artistic evolution.\nShane Hall’s discography is a collection of several acclaimed albums and EPs that highlight his exceptional storytelling and emotional depth. His solo debut album\, Human Condition\, released in 2017\, was a pivotal moment in his career. After signing with LAW Records in 2018\, Shane Hall released a three-part record—West River Queen—which won Best Blues Album at the 2020 San Diego Music Awards. This groundbreaking project showcased Shane Hall’s genre-spanning versatility.\nShane Hall’s larger-than-life voice has led him to standout performances at iconic venues and festivals. From electrifying shows at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks with the reggae-rock band Pepper\, to opening for Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers\, and gracing major stages at Coachella\, Burning Man\, Electric Forest\, and Lightning in a Bottle\, Shane Hall has made a significant impact on the music scene.\nIn 2021\, his track “Under My Voodoo” won the San Diego Music Award for Best Americana\, Jazz\, or Blues Song. His latest album\, Howl & Sway (LAW Records)\, released in 2023 through Pacific Records and produced by two-time Grammy-nominated Joe Marlett\, has achieved notable success.\nIn 2024\, Howl & Sway reached #1 on the Apple iTunes Blues chart\, won Best Blues Album at the San Diego Music Awards\, and received recognition from the Grammy® Academy. This album represents the culmination of Shane Hall’s dedication and artistic evolution over the past two decades.\n“Music isn’t just something I do; it’s who I am. I refuse to be confined to a single sound. Even if I create the box\, I won’t stay in it.” — Shane Hall\nABOUT TAVANA\nTavana is a one-man musical wrecking crew from Honolulu\, who uses his feet to lay down a variety of grooves while simultaneously playing guitar\, banjo\, lap steel\, or ukulele and singing deep-soulful\, island-inspired rock and blues\, bridging the gap between Hawaiian Music and Delta Blues. He consistently sells shows out in Hawaii leaving audiences in awe of his musical energy.\n“He’s more the exception than the rule\, he is a great human and I’m glad to know him” —Eddie Vedder\n“Tavana is a man on a mission and big opportunities await his arrival. As a human being and friend\, Tavana’s a chill guy\, honest and easygoing. I believe he’s on the edge of going big.” — Henry Kapono\nTavana is known for his Waikiki jam sessions and regularly jams with a who’s who of players in Hawaii\, including Eddie Vedder who invited Tavana to sing ‘Hawaii 78’ – a Hawaii anthem of sorts – with him at the Hawaii Theatre. From a recording of their performance together\, Vedder produced a limited vinyl record that was sent out to 10\,000 Pearl Jam fans. Vedder also took Tavana out on tour for several dates as his opening act for his solo album. Tavana has jammed with many musical greats\, including Jack Johnson\, Pat Simmons\, Michael McDonald\, Henry Kapono\, G Love\, Willie K\, John Cruz\, Ron and Thunderstorm Artis\, and Leon Mobley (Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals). He also has been the supporting act for Alabama Shakes\, Shakey Graves\, Xavier Rudd\, Jenny Lewis\, Julian Marley\, and Kaleo to name just a few.\nTavana is a multi-Nā Hōkū Hanohano (Hawaiian Grammy®) nominee and is currently featured on an in-flight video on all Hawaiian Airlines. He was a featured artist on Henry Kapono’s “The Songs of C&K”\, and is also a featured “Playing for Change” artist.\n \n Buy Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Back to Upcoming
