FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Eric Gilliom’s White Hawaiian
Show Expanding with Off-Island Performances
Weekly on Kaua’i July 2023
MAUI, HAWAII (July 5, 2023) – Eric Gilliom’s one-man autobiographical theatrical performance, the White Hawaiian, is expanding this summer with a new weekly showcase at Anaina Hou’s Porter Pavilion on Kaua’i. After a successful private community screening in May, the white Hawaiian returns with weekly performances on Thursdays beginning on July 20, 2023. The White Hawaiian has quickly become a hit show on Maui and it’s soon to become a hit on Kaua’i!
Based on Eric Gilliom’s famous family history and Eric’s career as an entertainer, the story unfolds from his great-grandparents to his famous grandmother, Napua Wood, on down to his parents then seamlessly into growing up with his six-time Grammy-nominated sister, Amy Hānaialiʻi Gilliom. The reliving of his career highlights and follies makes this a full-circle story that is rich and entertaining. Packed with non-stop laughs, this witty performance keeps audiences engaged from the start.
The White Hawaiian was written by Eric Gilliom and Brian Kohne from the Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning band Barefoot Natives and the movie Get a Job. The Maui News says that “If they ever invented a Hoku for musical theater, Gilliom would win it hands down.” Get tickets and the show schedule at AnainaHou.org and visit WhiteHawaiian.com for more about the show, Eric and Brian.
